JAMES R. NEEDHAM  Bio

The Reverend James R. Needham is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work and minors in Religion and Music.  He earned his Masters of Divinity from Southern and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminaries and has done extensive post graduate studies in the fields of humanities, religion, philosophy, early Christian traditions and New Testament.  He is also a certified Myers Briggs Instructor and is experienced in several modalities of healing prayer.  He is an accomplished musician and worship leader who plays several instruments and has authored numerous creative worship experience that feature art, poetry, liturgy, drama and music.  His ministry of over 35 years has included work with youth, music, missions, teaching, church planting and the pastorate.  In addition to his work with this institution he is currently serving as Pastor of St. Luke’s Anglican Church and as Senior Counselor of Teen Challenge of Tallahassee.

Fr. Jim Needham graduated from The Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work and minors in Religion and Music.  He Earned a Master of Divinity degree from Southern and Southeastern Seminaries.  He has also done extensive post graduate work in the fields of humanities, communications, sociology and religion.  Currently he is writing his dissertation for the Doctorate of Ministry which he hopes to have completed in 2015.  He is certified in life coaching, specializing in equipping and encouraging  leaders in churches,  He is a certified MBTI instructor who provides consultation in areas such as conflict resolution, teamwork, spiritual direction and marriage and family issues.  He is an accomplished musician, playing 5 instruments.

Before becoming an Anglican in 1996, Fr. Jim  grew up and was ordained as a Baptist. His ministry began at age 16 and he served congregations in five states as a Youth Minister, Music Director, Evangelist and Pastor.   He has also worked as a counselor for Teen Challenge, as a social worker for the Elderly and as a disability examiner.  Currently, he is the Pastor of St. Lukes Anglican Church, a congregation he planted.   The congregation is known for its creative worship , it’s development of future church leaders and its outreach to the unchurched.

Among the interesting things he has done are biking across the United States, visiting 4 continents, playing jazz, classical and bluegrass music on the violin, authoring journal and newspaper articles and designing, making and selling his own line of jewelry.

He is married to the former Christine Schmidt.   Together they have 5 children.
